Steps for Summer
Step 1

Decide which post-secondary option is right for you.
Step 3
Research 2-year and/or 4-year colleges. Naviance is a great resource for students. Students can pull up college information through the search query and make a college list based on size, location, major, etc. If students have any potential interest in a college, list it in the “Colleges I’m Thinking About” list in Naviance. Additional resources include Naviance scattergram (under “More” section), looking at college websites for colleges that you have heard about to get a baseline of what is offered, and virtual programs and tours.
Step 4
Test scores? Do you meet the minimum requirements for your college or post-secondary options?

- Considering a military career? Plan to take the ASVAB in October 2022 on PSAT Day.
Step 5
Begin working on your Common App essay prompts (if applying to a Common App school).

Step 6
Click here to complete your Post-Secondary Options Packet. Please email your completed packet to your School Counselor due the first day of school this is part of your English Summer Assignment along with the reading and assignment posted by the English Department. Click here for your additional summer assignments.
OPTIONAL - Click here to complete a teacher recommendation page for EACH teacher you are asking to write a letter of recommendation for you. Students must request teacher and/or school counselor recommendations by September 1, 2022.
